elfowl.jpgSix of southeastern Arizona's twelve owl species nest in the canyons of the "sky islands," but they can be difficult to find and identify. Join SABO naturalists on a night walk in search of Whiskered Screech-Owl, Elf Owl, and other night creatures.

The prowl begins with a short introduction to the small owls of the Huachuca Mountains and their calls. No recordings will be used on the trails. Participants must be comfortable with walking less than a mile on gravel roads and unimproved trails with the aid of small flashlights.

$15 per person for members of SABO, $20 for non-members. Participation is limited, and prepaid reservations are required; fees are refundable only if unforeseen circumstances force SABO to cancel the walk.
