birding hot spots with Sheri Williamson, author of the Peterson Field
Guide to Hummingbirds and the title essay in Good Birders Don't Wear White: 50 Tips from North America's Top Birders.
Late May is an excellent time to get to know some of southeastern Arizona's most exciting birds, especially owls and trogons.
Mo
st field trip destinations will be of chosen for their owl and trogon potential, but we won't neglect the songbirds, hummingbirds, raptors, and other

you an in-depth understanding of the natural history and
identification of southeastern Arizona's 12 nesting species of owls and two trogons. To compensate for early mornings and nighttime field trips, most days will incorporate an hour or two of siesta time in the afternoon.
Featured lodging for this tour will be Casa de San Pedro Bed & Breakfast, adjacent to the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area. One night will be spent at Portal in the Chiricahua Mountains.
